Uncle Lionel Batiste

It's a sad day for New Orleans, Kady and me. It's crazy how quickly web searches about Unlce Lionel Batiste adopted the past tense. Perhaps that's a measure of fame.

In honor of the iconic jazz musician who passed away last Sunday after a brief battle with cancer, I will choose to remember him this way: as the most charming feel-copper I've ever encountered.
